Natural relief & diet advice for IBS, bloated stomachs & constipation
Get the most from your food
In order to get the most from your food there are 3 digestive phases via the Gastro Intestinal Tract:
Digestion
Enzymes and acids need to be released from the stomach, liver and pancreas to break down the carbs, proteins and fats in food. Many people that experience fullness after eating, burping, wind, constipation etc do not have enough of these enzymes.
Absorption
Most absorption occurs in the small intestines. It is very hard to tell if food is being absorbed properly and Naturopaths offer testing to check this. Sometimes after years of eating foods which don’t agree with you, or after an infection, the gut lining becomes more permeable than it should be, called “Leaky Gut”. Our Naturopaths will provide you with natural medicines to repair the gut wall to ensure your intestinal lining is strong and healthy and you absorb the most from your food, getting the most nutrients from your diet.
Elimination
It is most important that bowel movements occur every day. Missing days or feeling constipated, loose bowels or struggling passing bowel motions is not normal and needs to be corrected. If elimination is sluggish in the bowel, toxic material sits in the large intestine and can be re-absorbed, causing tiredness and strain on other eliminative organs. Naturopathy is excellent at helping you learn how to manage your irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.
