So we all drink them feeling good about ourselves and how we are saving our waistlines. However, the calories from a beer are mainly from the alcohol content in the beer NOT the carbs! So if you’re drinking a full strength low carb beer it still has a lot more calories than a light beer. It’s the calories from the alcohol which makes us gain weight, not really the carbs. So in fact, you’re better off drinking light or reduced alcohol drinks or a nip of spirits with a diet / non sugary mixer.
