Dr. Georgina Hale
Dr Georgina Hale is Specialist Physician (infectious Diseases & General Medicine), PhD (2006) and certified IFM functional medicine practitioner (2016). She completed Medicine (with Honours) at Monash University then her advanced training in Infectious Diseases at the Alfred (VIC), John Hunter (NSW) and Royal North Shore (NSW) hospitals. Dr Hale then took a research fellowship position at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with Prof Bairey Merz. This fellowship allowed her to study and publish papers on the effects of plant and soy isoflavones in menopause. On returning to Australia, she completed a PhD with Professor Ian Fraser at the University of Sydney on the hormonal dynamics underlying the menopause transition. She is author of several related publications related to her PhD findings, and is close to publishing her first book titled “.
After moving to the Sunshine Coast in QLD in 2012, she has continued consulting in general medicine and infectious diseases while completing her certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine in 2016. Since completing the IFM certification, she is now using the combined experience in internal medicine, infectious diseases and female reproductive endocrinology to create a new practice encompassing these disciplines. Dr Hale is keen to incorporate the latest scientific advances into the mainstream medical paradigm. She is uniquely qualified to take on any midlife or menopausal women’s health issues for and with the team at Vibe.
